Saturday the 6th.

Hello to whoever is reading this!

I’m having an extremely laid back, relaxed day today. I’m spending this week with my mother in law, and we’ve been pretty busy for the past couple of days. We’ve been trying to build a living room table (lol, pinterest needs better directions). We’ve also just been running errands. So just lounging on the couch today seems well deserved haha. Whitley seems pretty exhausted too and keeps napping on and off. I can’t thank fisher price enough for their “little lamb swing”, it’s Whitleys favorite and it never fails to either keep him entertained or put him to sleep.

So I got a phone call from my husband today. He graduates from basic training the 12th. I can’t wait to go to Georgia to see him! after 14 weeks apart it just can’t come soon enough.

Whitleys onesie says “My daddy’s got your back. US ARMY” lol.

Okay; finishing this up now. I just wanted to pop in and keep my promise from the last post to keep my blog a bit more updated.

Love, Jessika 💕

Major update

So since I last wrote a post, our little man Whitley has been born! He’s now 4 months old and he’s the absolute cutest little baby in the entire world. We’re so beyond in love with him.

He was born 8 pounds 11 ounces, and he was 21 inches long. He’s been an amazing baby since day 1. He has slept through the night since he was just a few weeks old. Now at 4 months he’ll sleep from 9 pm till about 7-8 am. Which is amazing haha.

He’s spoiled rotten already, with designer clothes and more toys than any kid could ever possibly need. But more than anything, we spoil him with love. He was the perfect little surprise for us, and we just feel so blessed to have made such a beatiful; amazing child.

Having a little tiny person that’s half me and half the man I love, is better and more fulfilling than I could’ve ever imagined.

So as of right now we live in Texas. But in just a few weeks we will be relocating to Ft. Campbell KY. My husband is in the army, and that’s the first base he’s been sent to.

Though leaving Texas, my friends, and my husbands family behind is extremely heartbreaking, I’m so ready for this new chapter in our lives. I’m very excited to see what kentucky and life on base has to bring. So though it may be bittersweet, I’m looking forward to it, and embracing this experience with open arms.

It’s 11:51 here in Texas, and past my bedtime haha, so I’m wrapping this post up by making a promise (for the millionth time) to write here again soon!

Grimm’s complete fairy tales

Found this yesterday at Barnes and nobles, for $8! I could not be more excited, and I can’t wait to read this to Whitley ❤️ oh and I’m 31 weeks pregnant today! Time just can’t go by fast enough I swear. Though looking back, it’s flown by. It feels like just last week when I took the first pregnancy test, and now here I am, 9 weeks away from being a mother. Quite unbelievable.

GD, body pillow, and converse

So we went to the doctors office today, and everything was perfectly fine which really eased my mind. I’ve been so scared that I’ll end up with preeclampsia for many different reasons, BUT my blood pressure was perfect and my labs came back great. So that’s one less thing to worry about, for now at least 😌 (I know I’m so optimistic! Haha.) I am going for my one hour glucose test next week though, and THAT I’m still a bit worried about. I’m not exactly the healthiest person in the world. I don’t exercise, I haven’t in years! And I eat waaaay to much junk food, and I also have a serious Coca Cola addiction. I feel as though there’s no way I haven’t developed GD, but then again I think it only affects 10% of pregnant women or so? I could be totally off on that though. Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see!

I slept with my new body pillow last night, and oh my god. I will probably sleep with this thing even after the baby is born! I’ve never been so comfortable in my life! And it’s funny because when I first opened the package and took the pillow out, I looked at it and thought to myself “how is this going to help in anyway?” Quite frankly, it looked a bit pathetic haha. But as soon as I layed down with it, I realized why it cost $60 lol. It was just so amazing, such great support and it was so cozy! I would recommend it over and over again! Seriously, if you are on the fence about getting one for yourself, just do it. I promise you won’t regret it!

On a completely different note, Whitley will most likely be a little country boy just like his daddy. He’s already got his first pair of wranglers, a pearl snap wrangler button up, a leather belt – complete with buckle and all – and two pairs of boots to match with his daddy. Which is why I am so excited to announce that now he also has a pair of shoes so he can match with ME! My mom sent us the most adorable little pair of black converse, and I could not be more excited! I’ve worn converse for as long as I can remember. I love them! I just can’t get over how ridiculously cute these shoes are though! I can’t wait to dress him up in them haha 😍

I just had to share them with y’all. It’s a rainy, muggy day here in Texas today, so I’m going to curl up on the couch with my pups and take it easy the rest of the day. Hope y’all have a good one!

Who doesn’t love packages…

It’s always exciting when a big package shows up on your doorstep, but when what’s in the package is something you’ve been longing for, dreaming about, & just about cried for its even better! My maternity pillow came today! Thank god for my amazing mom who never fails to spoil the crap out of me 😉

I feel like I haven’t slept in months, there’s just been no way to get comfortable lately! I’ve slept on my stomach for as long as I can remember, it’s been the only way for me to able to fall asleep, ever. So now since my belly really popped, there’s just been no sleep at all for me. I’ve tried every possible way, including building basically a pillow fort around me, supporting my belly, my back, my legs, still nothing. So I’m beyond excited to try this body pillow out! I’m praying it works, cause this mama needs her sleep!!

Well, just wanted to share this, cause I’m that excited about it haha! I’ll make sure to let y’all know if it worked or not 😜 but now it’s time to watch an episode of friends, which is by the way my all time favorite show. I’ve seen it a million times, and I still am not even the slightest bit tired of it. Either way, after this episode I’m heading to bed! Goodnight everyone.

Baby stuff we still need to buy

There’s only like three more things I feel like I truly need before my little man gets here. It’s been kind of a struggle finding the right brand for each thing, but after months of googling & review reading, I think I’ve found the perfect brands for us.

First off, the one thing I knew I’d be needing from the start, is none other than the Boppy Pillow, I’ve heard such amazing things about it, and I will be breastfeeding (if possible), so I just feel as though a nursing pillow will be a huge help. And I can’t hear enough good things about this specific brand. The only thing is, I’m totally torn on which color to get haha. I’m gonna go with the Boppy Luxe Pillow, it is $50, but I really feel like it’ll be worth it. Here’s the two colors I’m torn between, though I don’t even know why, since I’m obsessed with the chevron pattern and the color gray, and the baby’s room will have plenty of both, this one should be the obvious choice:

But I’m just so in love with this one too:

I’m sure I’ll end up with the grey one either way. But I’m gonna pretend for another day or so that this is a really tough decision i have to make 😉

The second thing I need to get is a tub for my little Whitley, and I’ve decided to go with theThe first years” newborn to toddler tub with sling because again, I’ve just heard amazing things about it. And I love the fact that it’s $19.99, and you can use it for so long! no need to get a new one, he’ll be able to use it until he’s big enough to bathe in the actual tub.

Here’s a picture of it:

And then the third thing I want is a swing. And after doing a lot of research, I’ve decided to go with the Fisher-price my little lamb cradle baby swing, I’ve read many good things about it, and I especially like that it comes with a toy rack thing (I have no idea what to call it lol), here’s the link to the official fisher-price page for the swing if you’d like to read about all the amazing little gadgets it comes with!

And here’s a picture of it, also how freaking cute is this?! I love the little lamb ears!

Once my little lovebug gets here and I can officially try all of these things out (among a million other baby products) I will make sure to make a review post and let you all know what I thought of everything! Hopefully there’ll be nothing but thumbs up 👍🏻

Okay, so that’s it for this post, probably for today! Thanks for reading! Please follow me, and comment your personal experience with each of these products, or if you’ve had a great (or bad) experience with any other brands!

Almost 8 months pregnant!

Today I am 30 weeks 5 days, so two more days and I’ll officially be in my 8th month. And there’s really only two things I have to say about the third trimester, the first – a given – I am exhausted. Actually I’m beyond exhausted. Sleep literally does not exist anymore. The second thing is, stressing! I’ve been constantly stressing about everything. Do I have everything I need? What should I pack in the hospital bag? Should I already have trained my dogs to sleep somewhere else besides my bed? I need to get started on the nursery!! What if the baby comes early? What’s this feeling I’ve got, is something wrong? The stressing and the worrying does not stop! It calmes me down knowing I now have a doctors appointment every two weeks but still, there’s always something on my mind.

I am so ready for my little boy to be here though, oh yeah, I’m having a boy! We’re naming him Whitley Johan, Whitley because me and my husband both love Keith Whitley. And Johan was my brothers name, he passed away when he was only 2 years old, so honoring him is something I’ve always been set on doing.

We have most of the furniture for the nursery ready, all I need is the crib (we do have a bassinet, which he will sleep in the first couple of months), and I need a “nursing” chair. Hopefully we’ll be getting both here within the next month. We’ll probably get to painting the nursery here next week or so, which I am SO excited about! We’re doing the walls a mint green color, and all of the furniture will be white or gray, and so will most decorations. White, gray, and mint green are the colors we’re sticking to though. Can’t wait to share pictures with y’all once we get going!

I’m going to wrap this one up, I feel like I shared too much for one post haha! Here’s a picture of me though, this is when I was 26 weeks!
